Stayed May 2014: Travelled as a couple
Comments: Fantastic Penthouse Apartment id33. Would definitely recommend this accommodation, it is very spacious, clean and tidy and well equipped. We wanted a quiet week, where we could relax and chill out and this definitely ticked all the boxes. You have two lovely beaches either side of the complex if you prefer to use these instead of pool or roof top solarium. Also very impressed deposit was put back into our bank account the same day we left 🙂 always good to know (we’ve previously had problems with that when renting other apartments, but this was very quick and efficient) would definitely go back again,

Stayed July 2013: Travelled as a couple
Comments: My wife and I rented a penthouse apartment id 90 at the Playa Principe through Lamangadreams. We have stayed in La Manga del Mar Menor previously and enjoyed our stay. My wife hadn’t been very well lately and I wanted to make this visit a special stay. I explained to Tony at Lamangadreams my situation and was assured I had made the right choice in my selection of apartment. We were met by Tony and his wife at the apartment and any fears I may have had on booking appropriate accommodation disappeared immediately.

Stayed August 2013: Travelled as a family
Comments: This penthouse is perfect for a couple or a family with one or two small children. It is right on the Mediterranean and the Mar Menor in a very nice apartment complex. The apartment overlooks the Mar Menor and Mediterranean and gives spectacular views of the sunset The apartment is a good size and the private roof terrace with BBQ was amazing,.

Stayed June 2015: Travelled as a family
Comments: My wife and I, our 13 year old daughter and 9 year old twin girls stayed here during the last 2 weeks of June. The location is perfect for a relaxing beach/pool holiday, the Playa Principe apartment building is situated right on the beach at (what we think is) the ‘nicer’ end of the La Manga Strip where it is a lot less built-up therefore a bit quieter, which was just what we were looking for.

We couldn’t fault the apartment at all, it was clean, really well equipped with plenty of space in the living/dining area, a decent kitchen, 3 good sized bedrooms, lots of wardrobe space and it was a godsend having 2 bathrooms (especially for me, being the only Male in the family !) The large balcony is probably the best feature, it’s the perfect place for dining and enjoying a few drinks, you’re looking right down on the pool then you have the beautiful beach and Mediterranean Sea right in front of you, the view really is amazing, I don’t think the photos on the website do it justice. Even the small balconies in both of the twin bedrooms give you nice views over the courtyard and across the Mar Menor Lagoon.

The courtyard and the gardens around the pool are really well maintained, in fact the whole complex was spotless.

The pool itself was also well looked after, the bottom of it was ‘hoovered’ most mornings and it was constantly being topped up with fresh water keeping it really clean.

We wanted a fairly quiet beach holiday in a nice apartment with a few bars/restaurants nearby and this location ticked all the boxes. The large beach next to the apartments on the Mediterranean side is fantastic and you also have another small beach about 300 metres up the road on the Mar Menor Lagoon. The Lagoon is very shallow which is ideal for small children, you can also hire pedalos, kayaks and jet skis.

You are about 1500 metres away from the stylish Tomas Maestre Marina where you will find a good selection of restaurants offering all kinds of cuisines, we found the best ones were on the Mar Menor side where the sunsets are unbelievable.

This part of ‘the strip’ is fairly quiet but if you want it livelier, especially at night, you would need to head down to the main part of La Manga where there is a lot more going on and you have a greater choice of bars, restaurants, shops and markets etc.

We hired a car which obviously made getting around a lot easier but I wouldn’t say that it was essential, it totally depends what you want to do while you’re there. We had a few days out and would recommend visiting the hot sulphur mud lakes across the Mar Menor, we took the ferry from the marina over to Santiago de la Ribera then got a taxi up to Lo Pagan where the mud lakes are. We also had a great day at the Aquapolis Waterpark which is just over an hours drive up the coast in Torrevieja.

If you need any further information while you’re there you can always contact Tony & Hayley, they manage the apartment, they also live in the area so they have great local knowledge and are really helpful.

You can’t really go wrong with the weather in this part of Spain, we had 14 days of glorious sunshine which made for a fantastic holiday so, taking everything into consideration, we would not hesitate in recommending this apartment and this area of La Manga to anyone
